Preston Rentals demonstrated compact lifting excellence at the USA Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs, CO, with our Maeda MC285CB mini crane. The project involved lowering a 1,200-lb man lift into an Olympic pool holding over one million gallons of water—a task that demanded both precision and adaptability.
The MC285CB’s compact design and zero-emissions capabilities made it the perfect solution for the job. The crane easily tracked up a ramp, maneuvered onto a 4’x3’ concrete pad, and fit seamlessly through a narrow 36” door. Once inside, the team expertly utilized the crane’s multi-outrigger angle option and moment limiter settings to navigate the confined space and avoid contact with the overhead HVAC system.
Positioned perfectly, the MC285CB lowered the man lift into the pool, enabling critical repairs on the large ceiling fans that regulate airflow above the water. Preston Rentals is proud to have contributed to the maintenance of this world-class training facility, delivering a solution that combined precision, versatility, and sustainability.

The project required installing steel columns and pillars within the old brick infrastructure, where tight spaces and limited access posed significant obstacles.
