Preston Rentals Delivers on Red Rocks Spotlight Upgrade – Maeda MC285C

Even an iconic venue like the Red Rocks Amphitheatre needs upgrades to keep its legendary performances shining. When MBR Electric needed to install new lighting fixtures on the venue’s upper level, they faced tight pathways, fixed concession stands, and structural load restrictions – a tough challenge for standard lifting solutions.

Our Maeda MC285C mini crane was compact enough to maneuver through restricted spaces on site while also providing the power to lift the light posts into place, each weighing approximately 1200lbs. The crane’s multi-outrigger angles allowed precise positioning, and its lightweight tracked design enabled safe deployment on the two-story structure’s rooftop without exceeding weight limits. MBR Electric was thrilled with our efficient solution and excited to use us again on future projects.

Our Mini Crawler Crane Tackles Tough Terrain in the Rockies – Maeda CC1485

Building in the Rocky Mountains presents unique challenges – steep grades, unpredictable weather, and remote job sites with limited access. When Western Peak began constructing a custom home in Granby, Colorado, they needed a crane strong enough for heavy lifts yet compact enough to navigate rugged conditions.

Our Maeda CC1485 mini crawler crane delivered both. Its 53-foot boom provided excellent reach, but when the job required more height, the crew extended its jib for an additional 20 feet, ensuring they could complete the build efficiently despite snowy conditions. With another high-altitude project successfully completed, this job with Western Peak proved that mini cranes are essential for challenging terrain. If your job site demands both strength and agility, Preston Rentals has the solution!

Preston Rentals Offers Precision Lifting for White Construction – Maeda MC285CB

When White Construction was tasked with installing glass curtain walls on a two-tier structure at SpaceX’s Brownsville, TX facility, they needed a lifting solution that combined precision with compact maneuverability. With a tower crane already in use, White Construction turned to Preston Rentals for an alternative lifting method – one that could operate in confined rooftop conditions while handling heavy glass panels. Our Maeda MC285CB was the perfect fit.

Flown onto the rooftop, our compact mini crawler crane efficiently hoisted glass panels from below and set them into position with pinpoint accuracy. This marks Preston Rentals’ third collaboration on this groundbreaking project, reinforcing our commitment to delivering innovative lifting solutions where precision is paramount.

Diving Into Efficiency: Our Mini Cranes Power Ballard Locks Project – Maeda MC815 + UNIC 706

Working below grade and over water presents many challenges for heavy lifting work, including limited access, barge-based transport, and tight operating conditions. For the second phase of their Seattle Ballard Locks project, Global Diving required a lifting solution that could adapt to this demanding environment and once turned again to Preston Rentals to deliver the solution.

We provided four mini cranes – 2 x Maeda MC815 and 2 x UNIC 706s – to remove and transport large concrete bins. Our cranes continue to work from barges, loading materials onto transport vessels before offloading them for disposal. This project is set to continue for five more months, with our cranes ensuring safe, efficient progress every step of the way.

Our Mini Crane Lifts PCI to Success in Downtown Denver – Maeda MC305

Tower crane delays can bring entire construction projects to a halt, but Preston Rentals had the perfect alternative when PCI needed to install glass curtain walls on a new multi-story apartment development in Downtown Denver. We deployed the Maeda MC305, lifting it onto the fifth floor for precision curtain wall installation. Its small footprint ensured zero disruption to other trades, keeping the project on schedule without the need for costly tower crane time.

This job marked the beginning of a strong partnership with PCI, proving that mini cranes are the key to working smarter in tight spaces.

Our Mini Crane Delivers Time and Cost Savings for Midlands Mechanical! – Maeda MC405

A 275-ton crane may seem like the obvious choice for installing catwalks at Owens Corning, but Midlands Mechanical found a smarter, more efficient solution: Preston Rentals’ Maeda MC405. With low-hanging machinery and limited access, a full-sized crane simply wasn’t feasible. Our MC405 maneuvered under obstacles, set up in tight quarters, and lifted the catwalks into position – all without the extra rigging, costs, and logistical challenges of a larger crane.

This project highlighted the MC405’s adaptability and strengthened our partnership with Midlands Mechanical. If your site has tight spaces and heavy lifting, let’s find the right solution together!
